Its been really interesting. The whole project has made me really pay attention during the day. I’m starting to take pictures of everything, pay attention to little details, the things I want to share with my friends. Its making me ask the question “what do I want to remember about today?”

These four pictures are from the last few days, nothing is super high quality because I use my ipod camera to snap pictures through the day.

Nachos for dinner with the Wimberley kiddos, the Riley dog smiling up at me,  another kiddo I hung out with climbing through a tunnel and me and Jeff’s feet.

That last picture is so precious to me. I usually hate feet, but there is something so special about that picture and the way it makes me feel. So loved, cared for, protected.  He is so special to me.

I’ve felt scrambled this week.

My head and my heart are having funky conversations and my emotions are completely and totally out of whack.

I’m stuck on this whole not handling change well.

I’m learning to treasure time with friends and family more and more, to not worry about things quite as much, to experience as much as I can and live life the way God wants me to.  The little things in life are very important.  Alli Rogers writes a song called “The day of Small Things” its becoming a favorite of mine.  Poor Jeff is probably tired of listening to her in the car.  The words say,

“I am afraid of beginning,
‘cause I don’t know how to end.
But you told me that the mountain before us
would become a plain in our eyes.

God’s got things under control.  Its good to be reminded of that every now and then (although I need the reminder a lot).

This last month has been an emotional roller coaster.  Not bad, just different. Life is changing in ways I never dreamed it would.  In the last few years I have developed some of the most amazing relationships with even more amazing people. These are the friends who will be around for a lifetime.  Friendships that I hope and pray will last time and distance.

I’ve always been okay with change as long as I was the one creating it. I realize that’s not how the world works, its just how I wish that it did.  I was just fine being the one to leave for faraway lands unknown.  Now my friends and family are doing the leaving and I don’t love it!  I handle some moments much better than others.  I know they are going on to do fantastic things in different places and part of me is just plan jealous.  For the first time in quite a few years I’m sitting in Raleigh for the summer, working and paying bills.  No big travel plans, no leaving for months at a time, just here in Raleigh… all summer.

I’m working on getting over the jealousy.  It’s gonna be a good summer.  I’m sure of it.

Its time for people to come home. I’ve never been a very patient person and I’ve always admitted that. When I’m traveling and out of town it’s perfectly fine for me to stay gone for a long time, but when others are traveling they need to hurry up and get home!

The travel bug has bitten again and I find myself searching for plane tickets and researching travel destinations and daydreaming about far away places. Haiti is on my list again this year. Hopefully sometime in the mid to late summer. My grandfather is heading back to Libera at some point and I would love to travel with him. Trips abroad with him are always fantastic and I’d like to take advantage of every opportunity available to go. I’ve also checked out some just for fun ideas all over the US.. who knows where I’ll go, I just know I feel like I need to be going somewhere. I want to meet new people and have new conversations. No matter what happens, it’s going to be a good year.

25 has started off as a really great year.

I have the most amazing man in my life.

We’ve been dating a month and it doesn’t feel like a month at all. It’s like he’s always been there, I don’t remember a time without him. It’s the most comfortable, yet incredibly exciting relationship. I am so very thankful for him.

This time he was constantly scratching, his face, ears, and paws were all swollen and he looked miserable. Turns out there is something in this world he is horribly allergic to… we just don’t know what.

There is this feeling of helplessness and worry and fear. What if its something in our house? What if I can’t figure out what it is? What if it happens again? I hate this feeling. I’m constantly watching him now. Checking his ears to make sure the swelling is still going down. Watching where he goes to try and figure out what’s making him react like he does. I’m like a freakin’ overprotective mother! geez.
